Unisys Federal Systems President Ted Davies Wins Federal 100 Award

BLUE BELL, Pa., Feb. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that Edward "Ted" Davies, president of Unisys Federal Systems, is a 2011 Federal 100 Award winner. The Federal 100 Awards, sponsored by Federal Computer Week, recognize leaders in the government IT community who "go above and beyond" to make a difference in the way technology transforms government.

Davies was recognized for his commitment to and success in delivering and applying information technology innovation and best practices to help government organizations accomplish their mission. Under Davies' leadership, Unisys Federal Systems has helped government agencies capture the potential of new technologies such as cloud computing and mobile computing, while maintaining the security of their data, networks and operations.

Embracing the government's "Cloud First" strategy, Davies led Unisys to a contract with the U.S. General Services Administration to deliver the federal government's first enterprise-wide cloud-based software-as-a-service solution for e-mail and collaboration based on Google Apps – an initiative the government expects to yield a 50 percent savings over five years for the agency.

Additional successes for Unisys Federal Systems in 2010 included the award of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration contract to build an advanced system to better identify people and vehicles entering and exiting the U.S. via its land borders with Mexico and Canada. The contract followed CBP's award-winning Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative contract, also held by Unisys.

Unisys also announced in 2010 significant wins and successes at agencies such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Agriculture, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and NASA.
