Unique Internship Opportunity at Global Environmental Engineering and Consulting Firm Greeley and Hansen Gives South American Student Hands-On, Real-World Experience in the U.S.
CHICAGO, Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As a final semester engineering student at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Seccional Bucaramanga, Colombia, Diego Sebastián J. Serrano Suárez, will have a deeper understanding of professional engineering after completing an intensive 24-week internship at Greeley and Hansen, a global engineering firm specializing in practical engineering, architecture, and management solutions for complex water, wastewater and infrastructure challenges.

Serrano Suarez's internship was sponsored by the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), an organization dedicated to enhancing technical and professional development and promoting international understanding through one-to-one reciprocal work. The IAESTE Internship Placement Program matches university students majoring in technical fields with paid internships around the world.
Greeley and Hansen worked with IAESTE to specifically arrange for a Colombian engineering student to participate in a paid internship at the firm's headquarters located in Chicago. As part of IAESTE's reciprocal exchange program, a U.S. engineering student will also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in an internship in another country.
