Union Names M. Dean Brown Chief Information Officer
RICHMOND, Va., March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Union Bank & Trust today announced that it has named M. Dean Brown executive vice president and chief information officer.
"Dean brings a range of experience in leading and transforming information technology departments in the financial industry," said G. William Beale, president and chief executive officer of Union Bankshares Corporation. "As Union has grown significantly over the last five years, Dean will lead our efforts to create a robust and scalable IT infrastructure to meet the challenges of today's banking environment."
Brown, 50, was previously chief information officer at Intersections, which provides consumer and corporate identity risk management services. Before Intersections, he was chief information officer at Advance America, a global provider of cash advance services, and general manager for IT at Revolution Money, a payments platform start-up. Brown was also chief operating officer and chief information officer at Upromise and was chief information officer for Capital One Health Care Finance.
Brown earned a BS in Business Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. He started at Union on March 3, 2015.
