UniFirst Recognized for Outstanding Financial Performance...25 Years in a Row
Named to Boston Globe Financial 'Hall of Fame'
WILMINGTON, Mass., May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 25th consecutive year, UniFirst has been named to the prestigious "Globe 100" list, which ranks Massachusetts-based public companies based on the previous calendar year's return on average equity, one-year percentage change in profit margin, one-year percentage change in revenue, and annual revenue.

The annual listing is compiled by financial editors and reporters at The Boston Globe, a New York Times company.
This year, UniFirst, a leading provider of uniforms and workwear to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada, was ranked number 22 on the "Globe 100" listing, up 30 positions from the previous year.
UniFirst has earned a spot on the "Globe 100" every year since its inception in 1989. Only three other Massachusetts-based companies have done likewise: Raytheon Company, a defense contractor; TJX Cos., an off-price clothing retailer; and Eaton Vance Corp., an investment management company.
Robert Weisman, a Boston Globe business reporter, said: "A total of 497 businesses have made at least one appearance on a 'Globe 100' list. But just four companies earned a spot on every one of the 25 annual rankings—the ultimate mark of consistent performance."
To mark the silver anniversary of this year's Globe 100 list, the newspaper also created a special "Hall of Fame" list which recognizes the very best aggregate financial performances over the past quarter century. Besides UniFirst and the other three companies with 25 years of uninterrupted financial accomplishment, the "inductees" included: Staples, Gillette, Reebok International, and Cabot Corporation.
"Being included on the 'Globe 100' list is gratifying because it ultimately represents a reflection of our business philosophy, which is to provide superior products and services at the best customer value," said Ronald Croatti, UniFirst President and CEO. "Our financial track record of success is also testimony to the customer focused work ethic of our 11,000 employee Team Partners and our constant goal to provide solid returns for our shareholders."
