Unequal products for the body and head use a military-grade composite fortified with DuPont™ Kevlar® to provide superior protection already trusted by thousands of professional athletes in the NFL, MLB, NHL and X Games, as well as at universities, high schools and youth leagues across the country.
"We are very pleased to receive the NFL's approval for the use of Unequal thigh pads for the upcoming football season," said Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies. "At Unequal, we strive to provide athletes – from the pros to kids just starting in Pop Warner – with the best head-to-toe protection available. We're encouraged by the feedback and adoption we're seeing among NFL players as they prepare to compete for the first time under the new league rules requiring additional protection."
Typically less than a quarter-inch thick, thigh pads developed by Unequal were independently tested by a team of engineers at the University of Virginia's Center for Applied Biomechanics prior to the NFL's approval for use. More than one-third of NFL franchises have already placed orders with Unequal to provide thigh protection for the upcoming season. Since no thigh protection testing standards currently exist for high school or youth football leagues, Unequal is making the same NFL-approved protection available to amateur athletes.
In addition to thigh padding, Unequal manufactures supplemental head padding and protective sports gear for the body, feet and custom use. To learn more about Unequal products or Unequal Technologies, visit unequal.com.

Remember, head and body protection are the second line of defense. Being careful and responsible is the first priority. Helmet and body pads do have limitations. No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports. Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests. Unequal products are not bulletproof, bullet resistant, stab resistant or stabproof. Obey the rules and "Code of Conduct" of the particular sport, game or activity. Use common sense and practice safe sports. For more information, visit www.unequal.com.
