Unconventional Gas Operators, Investors and Service Companies Converge in Pittsburgh to Assess Marcellus Shale Progress
HOUSTON, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 2,000 oil and gas operators, investors and service company executives are expected in Pittsburgh to attend Hart Energy Publishing's DUG™ East (Developing Unconventional Gas) event Nov. 2-4, 2010, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. With nearly three dozen speakers and 300+ exhibitors, the DUG™ East conference and exhibition provides the largest gathering of unconventional gas professionals in the eastern US. The two-day event focuses on the Marcellus Shale and Appalachian regional energy developments.
Information conveyed at DUG™ East gives operators, investors and the service industry an up-to-date overview of the economics, activity and new technology needed to successfully develop the Marcellus. Attendees will learn what operators are doing to develop their investments and protect the environment as they hear from the most active companies pursuing the Marcellus play and from technology experts who are contributing to the region's success.
The DUG™ East agenda covers an array of topics, from increasing shareholder value and the metrics of joint ventures to "best practices" in water management and the economic impact of shale gas development on the Appalachian region.
This is the second DUG East conference in Pittsburgh and is the latest installment in Hart Energy's successful DUG conference series (now in its sixth year). During 2010, more than 8,000 industry professionals will attend Hart Energy's DUG™ conferences.
Hart Energy will also host two technology workshops on Nov. 2, immediately before DUG™ East but separate from the main conference; one examines midstream infrastructure, the other addresses water management.
A special luncheon Nov. 3 features guest speaker Karl Rove, author, journalist and former White House official. Rove will bring his unique perspective on politics to the DUG™ East audience on the day following the 2010 mid-term elections, sharing insights on election results and their potential impact on shale gas development and the energy industry.
