Uncharted Learning's team highlighted during Women's Small Business Month
BARRINGTON, Ill., Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Women's Small Business Month provides the opportunity to distinguish the talented and committed women of Uncharted Learning (UL), who consistently drive growth of this not-for -profit company to new heights by advancing experiential education for students in grades 5-12. This team of women, with their backgrounds in education and business, create, develop and implement the entrepreneurship programs offered through UL: freshINC, mixINCedu, INCubatoredu, ACCELeratoredu, MobileMakersEdu and MobileMakersStudios.
Leading the efforts at UL are Executive Director Christy Scott and Chief Evangelist Margarita Geleske. Both women have strong marketing, brand management and advertising backgrounds. Geleske and Scott collaborated with the founders to develop and implement the first INCubatoredu course in 2013. The curriculum content was developed through innovative collaboration with business industry experts, rather than through traditional academic channels. In addition to Geleske and Scott, Margot Cidulka, Director of Member Development, utilizes her background in marketing and communications to expand awareness of UL programs among schools and districts nationwide. Through the ingenuity and passion of these women, UL programs combined are now offered in 230 schools and 22 states.
The growing UL team also includes professional women from the education sector. Jessi Chartier, Stacy Sniegowski and Sara Burnett use their industry experience in curriculum development and teaching to propel the entrepreneurship programs forward, coach teachers and update the professional development constantly to adapt to the ever-changing experiential learning environment. Kelly Trapp manages the UL operations to keep the team running smoothly.
Julie Pavlini, Assistant Principal, Wheaton North High School, Illinois has worked with the Uncharted Learning team for over two years.
"Uncharted Learning is an excellent organization, and I'm repeatedly impressed by their professionalism and responsiveness," Pavlini said.
This team of dynamic professional women has merged their collective experiences in business and education to develop teachers and students to do the same. They believe fervently in the concept of the entrepreneurship programs and in the potential for students, teachers and communities to benefit from this innovative real-world experience. We celebrate this vibrant team of women professionals during Women's Small Business Month and look forward to the continued innovation that they bring to the world of education.
