UNC Kenan-Flagler names new Chief Marketing Officer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School has appointed Michael Schinelli as its chief marketing officer (CMO), the school announced today.
Before joining UNC Kenan-Flagler, Schinelli was the associate vice president for marketing and communications at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, where he was responsible for designing and overseeing integrated marketing initiatives across traditional and new media channels. He also led brand positioning and creative development for Stevens' advertising efforts and managed the news and media relations department at the organization.

Prior to joining Stevens in 2009, Schinelli was the director of communications for Macy's Inc. in New York City. There, he was responsible for establishing vision, strategies and partnerships to support communications processes for the Fortune 100 Company and its 850 locations. In his earlier role as director of creative operations at Macy's, he oversaw in-store marketing design, graphics and creative development within context of the corporate integrated marketing process.
Schinelli received his undergraduate degrees in English literature and art from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master of Science in management from Stevens.
