UL Warns of Unauthorized UL Mark on USB 2.0 and Cat 5E Patch Cables
PUBLIC NOTICE
NORTHBROOK, Ill., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UL is notifying consumers, retailers and distributors that the USB and Patch Cables identified below bear an unauthorized UL Mark on the product packaging. The products have not been evaluated by UL to the applicable Standard for Safety and it is unknown if they comply with the UL safety requirements.
Name of Product: TriQuest USB 2.0 Cable Model 60-0302 and TriQuest Cat 5E Patch Cable Model 60-0102.
Number of Units: 124,300 units of Model 60-0302; 95,120 units of Model 60-0102.
Manufacturer: Sela Products LLC, Made in China
Date of Manufacture: Model 60-0302 first production in March 2010 and Model 60-0102 first production in February 2010. There are no date codes on the packaging or product.
Identification: On the packaging: The front of the packaging bears the TriQuest trade name. The back of the packaging bears the TriQuest trade name, the model number, "Made in China," and "Sela Products LLC." The packaging is marked with "UL" in a circle, and the words "UL Approved."
