UL Warns of Pressure Reducing Devices With Unauthorized UL and ULC Marks
NORTHBROOK, Ill., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying distributors, fire departments, regulatory agencies and authorities having jurisdiction that the pressure reducing device, identified below, bears an unauthorized UL Mark for the United States and an unauthorized ULC Mark for Canada.
The pressure reducing device is marked with the UL and ULC Mark, "A55," "Fire Hose Valve" and "618R," however, they were not produced by the UL authorized manufacturer, Giacomini SPA.
This product has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate standards for safety for the United States and Canada and is not authorized to bear the UL or ULC Mark. It is unknown if this product complies with the United States or Canadian safety requirements.
