UL Warns of Lighted Christmas Holiday Decorations With Unauthorized UL Marks for Canada

NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers and retailers that the holiday decorations manufactured by Nixan International Ltd. bear unauthorized UL Marks for Canada. Identified below, these lighted decorations are marked for indoor and outdoor use, have not been evaluated by UL to Canadian safety requirements, and are not authorized to bear the UL Mark.  It is unknown if these products comply with Canadian safety requirements.

On the product: Attached to the power supply cord is a holographic label, which contains the c-UL Mark and the following information:

The power supply cord has a tag with the model number NXHC45L36-BH or NXHC45L36-BS.

On the Product Packaging:  The Bobble Head Snowman packaging displays a c-UL Mark and item # MCX20-045001.  The Bobble Head Santa packaging displays a c-UL Mark and, Item # MCX20-045002.
