UL Warns of Counterfeit UL Mark on Fire Sprinklers (Release 17PN-16)

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a notification from UL that the fire sprinkler identified below bears a counterfeit UL Certification Mark for the United States and Canada. The fire sprinkler has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is not known if the fire sprinkler complies with any safety requirements.

Although the fire sprinkler wrench is marked "GLOBE", the fire sprinkler was not manufactured by Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation.

The product is marked with a counterfeit UL Mark and the following:
GN5651 286°F/141°C SSP 2005

Location:
The fire sprinklers have been found in the Malaysia. UL has not received reports of these counterfeit sprinklers in other locations.
