New Toolkit offers user-friendly Sustainable Product Guide, training, and sustainable code credit reference components to support LEED practitioners

"With the increasing complexity around specifying environmentally preferable products to achieve LEED points, we really wanted to provide support to architects and designers," explained Sara Greenstein, President of UL Environment. "Our hope is that the enhanced UL Environment Sustainable Product Guide, which is searchable by sustainable programs and by credits, will help remove some of the anxiety about finding products with verified environmental achievement. The ability to search by credit will facilitate the specification process for users, and allow them to save time and resources."
In addition to a completely redesigned Sustainable Product Guide, the LEED Toolkit provides tip sheets for both LEED v4 (including hotlinks to more detailed resources) and Achieving Points towards Sustainable Ratings Systems (including LEED 2009). These two one-page tip sheets aid by providing detailed specification tips for various credit requirements.
Another component of the toolkit is UL Environment's comprehensive education program geared to A&D specifiers. It includes a brand-new CEU, Innovation and Transparency: Building Transformation in LEED version 4. This hour-long CEU offering has been accredited by the American Institute of Architects (AIA); the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI); and by the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC). It will also be offered as a free live webinar, premiering December 10th. Participants in the CEU will be sent a link to a recorded archive version, making it available for future viewing and reference.
