UISOL's Demand Response Solutions Demonstrate Interoperability at Connectivity Week 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Utility Integration Solutions (UISOL), the utility industry business integration specialist, will be demonstrating OpenADR technology at the annual IT solutions conference for energy markets - Connectivity Week 2010 - held in Santa Clara, California.  

One demonstration of OpenADR technologies will be shown at the U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Labs) space #109 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.  UISOL has been working in cooperation with Berkeley Labs, to transition OpenADR from its current published specification into open source software.  OpenADR defines a communications interface protocol that allows utilities to automate management of end-use energy loads, or demand response.  An open source, Java-based OpenADR client /server toolkit developed in conjunction with Berkeley Labs will be released through the Lab's Demand Response Research Center this summer. The demonstration during Connectivity Week includes solutions interacting with OpenADR compliant home gateway, control, and display technologies. 

UISOL will also have its demand response software, DRBizNet®, integrated with the Progress® Apama® Complex Event Processing platform, which is used in a real-time demand response dispatch environment.  This application will be demonstrated at the Progress Software booth # 408.
