U.Group Taps Industry Veteran Dr. Tyrone Grandison as Vice President, Data
A move that brings muscle to the technology innovator's growing data business.
ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- U.Group is thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Tyrone Grandison who has joined the team as Vice President, Data. The Advanced Technology and Creative Design company formed by joining IT innovator ByteCubed and creative agency CHIEF, will look to Dr. Grandison to lead this pivotal part of its customer-centric business model.

As U.Group's Vice President, Data, Dr. Grandison will draw upon his 26 years of experience in data and software engineering, security, and privacy to help the company's federal and commercial customers use data to solve their most complex challenges. He joins the team after having most recently served as Executive Director of The Data-Driven Institute, a public health non-profit that helps policymakers use technology to create more effective programs and policies.
Dr. Grandison also brings deep public sector experience to the role. While Deputy Chief Data Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce, he co-founded a data startup within the Agency and led the successful rollout of its first 15 products. As a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow he worked with the U.S. Department of Labor and the Census Bureau to advance their API initiatives.
