IRVINE, Calif., June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Project managers from all industries looking to advance their skills and career success in the areas of project risk management, monitoring and control can participate in two free online webinars offered by University of California, Irvine Extension. The webinars will be held on Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PDT. They are respectively titled, A Review of Project Risk Management: Lessons Learned for Increased Project and Career Success and Tips and Ideas for Project Managers: Effective Monitoring and Control.
"Webinar participants will have the opportunity to learn best practices for successful project execution, and how to create a framework of effective monitoring and control techniques," said Tom Pokladowski, director of legal and finance programs at UC Irvine Extension. "Participants will also have the chance to hear first-hand from influential project management industry leaders with vast hands-on experience in the field."
In A Review of Project Risk Management: Lessons Learned for Increased Project and Career Success, participants will learn how the ability to effectively manage risks significantly improves the chances of successful project execution and personal career success. The goal of this interactive webinar is to review key lessons learned from past initiatives, and to assist in the understanding of how to incorporate these as part of an overall project and career approach. The webinar will be moderated by Laszlo A. Retfalvi, principal of Retfalvi and Associates, and UC Irvine Extension course instructor. Focused on leadership, accountability, and success, Laszlo is a recipient of the 2013 UCI Extension Distinguished Instructor Award.
Tips and Ideas for Project Managers: Effective Monitoring and Control will provide students with a framework of project monitoring and control techniques. Once a project begins, project managers are faced with numerous decisions, issues and problems which require attention. UC Irvine Extension instructor and guest expert Jim Baber will describe key monitoring and control areas of interest for current and future project managers.
