"The new BPO certificate program allows participants to engage in critical thinking and problem solving with creativity and innovation," said Angela Jeantet, director of UC Irvine Extension's education and business programs. "It is designed to introduce the key steps involved in building a BPO framework that satisfies the needs of their organization."
The first course in the program will be offered in summer of 2013. The "Introduction to Business Process Optimization" online course will provide participants with an understanding of the components of the BPO framework and an awareness of the methodologies, tools and models that serve as its core elements. The course will teach students to identify, define and embed critical business improvement mindsets and behaviors needed for reinforcing business process optimization efforts. Online instruction will begin on July 1 and run through August 11.
The certificate program is geared for business process or process improvement practitioners as well as change leaders, project managers, process managers, business analysts, entrepreneurs and those professionals who wish to advance their careers by taking on greater responsibilities.
Additional program courses will be offered in the fall of 2013. A certificate is awarded upon completion of five (5) required courses and two (2) elective courses for a total of 15 units with a grade of "C" or better.
