IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- University of California, Irvine Extension announced today the availability of phase two of the "Spanish for Healthcare Professionals" series. The course, "Spanish for Healthcare II," is available from Nov. 7 to Dec. 12 and offers in-depth vocabulary, grammar, expressions, and culture insight and suggestions for participants that have a basic understanding of the language. Geared towards busy working professionals, the instruction is "real-life" and taught in an atmosphere that promotes rapid language acquisition.

"We hope by offering a course with applied Spanish for the medical workplace, we are able to help healthcare professionals better communicate with those whose native language is Spanish," said Melanie Mitchell, director of management, marketing and business at UC Irvine Extension. "With course instructor William Harvey's proven ability to quickly teach participants the ability to grasp the Spanish language, participants will successfully master the skill and utilize it at their workplace in no time."
The course will emphasize verbal communication as well as specialized career related terminology to administer commands, explanations, ask important questions, and express clear and concise messages in a meaningful way. With a focus on the healthcare industry, the "Spanish for Healthcare Professionals" course is tailored to the needs of all healthcare personnel, with ready-to-use handouts, role-play scenarios and individualized mentoring.
Course instructor Harvey is a nationally recognized teacher, author and motivational speaker. He is the founder and president of Language Services Institute, Inc., a successful on-site language school. A 30-year veteran of teaching Spanish and ESL, Harvey is also the author of several books, has appeared in numerous healthcare webinars, and currently teaches Spanish at a variety of healthcare facilities throughout Orange County, Calif.
