UBM Welcomes Food Traders From Over 70 Countries to Food ingredient Asia 2011 in Bangkok
BANGKOK, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM, together with the Food Science & Technology Association of Thailand, National Food Institute, Food Industry Club – The Federation of Thai Industries and the Thai Food Processors' Association have opened Food ingredient Asia 2011. The show has returned to Bangkok for the 7th time and is expected to attract over 8,000 attendees and generate a Billion Baht in business. The event is held on 21 – 23 September 2011 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.
Mr. M Gandhi, Managing Director of UBM Asia (Thailand) said "Food ingredient Asia 2011 is showcasing more than 350 companies from 30 countries. In the last 2 years, attendance grew by 79%, making Fi Asia 2011 the biggest edition to date."
In addition to showcase of innovative food ingredients, Fi Asia 2011 drives industrial management, brings the value chain together, and integrates science and technology with recent economic developments. The event will promote product quality development, food safety and support for the upcoming integration of the ASEAN Economic Community.
Mr. Prapat Vanapitaksa, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, who opened the event, stated that the food industry has played an important role in Thailand's economy. The Ministry of Industry has a 20-year plan, starting in 2012, which will include upgrading industry clusters, expanding manufacturing network abroad and enhancing support structure for integrated management. The plan will enhance the cooperation amongst the ASEAN community for a sustainable manufacturing system by 2050.
Dr. Petch Chinabutr, President of the National Food Institute, who organizes together with UBM the seminar "The Impact of AEC 2015 on the ASEAN Food Industry", said the seminar will help to generate knowledge and recognition for Thailand's food industry. "We have a great cooperation with many associations, both domestic and international, which play a part in the integration of the ASEAN Community and will provide useful information on regulations, innovations, technologies and product development."
Fi Asia 2011 will include many interesting seminars; "The Impact of AEC 2015 on the Asian Food Industry", featuring speakers from Thailand and Southeast Asian; the conference: Food Ingredients Insight: Science and Industry, hosted by the Food Science & Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT) and The Federation of the Institutes of Food Science and Technology in ASEAN (FIFSTA), and exhibitor seminars presenting new technologies and study cases.
