UBM Studios Mobile Event Application Win's min's B2B Award
UBM Electronics' All-Access Conference Pass Application Delivered High Value Content to Users During and After ARM TechCon™
CHICAGO and SAN FRANCISCO, April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Electronics All-Access Conference Pass application for the ARM TechCon™ event won the min's Best of the Web Awards in the Tablet App -- Paid -- Interactive category. Supported by UBM Studios, the All-Access Conference Pass application is the electronics industry's first tablet application that provides a digital extension to improve attendees' event experiences. The min Best of the Web Awards are the business-to-business industry's top honor in the digital space, recognizing outstanding websites and digital initiatives among consumer and b2b magazines.
According to min's "UBM had a breakthrough plan for tying tablet use to the event by giving to All Access pass buyers a free ViewSonic® gTablet loaded with the Android event app. The app served users at all three stages of their involvement with the show: preparation, on-site engagement, and after-event follow-ups and review. This was one case where a branded app didn't just extend the experience of an event but helped sell it."
The All-Access Conference Pass application was launched at the ARM TechCon Conference, which was held October 25-27, 2011 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. The application allowed conference attendees to access all of the conference's interactive proceedings, including technical sessions as well as white papers, webinars, videos and collateral on a ViewSonic gTablet, an ARM Cortex™-A9 dual core tablet. The ARM TechCon program included more than 85 sessions led by 102 industry experts, targeting electronic and computer designers to help them connect, learn and engage in next-generation ARM technology-based mobile and embedded technologies. The application is platform agnostic and works on both tablet and desktop devices.
The technology offered an "Agenda" that allowed users to create a personal calendar for the event, to ensure that they did not miss any sessions critical to their design interests. Also, the application provided an alert to remind attendees when sessions would be starting. In addition, the application allowed users to find the content they were interested in viewing and add it to their "Briefcase" for review at their convenience on any device.
"This innovative use of tablets ushers in a new generation technology to enhance the attendee experience. We are especially proud to receive this award because it validates our focus on mobile and connecting audiences digitally before, during and after events," said Kate Spellman, President, UBM Studios. "We continue to explore mobile solutions to connect users with content in meaningful ways."
"The All Access Pass is a wonderful tool for us to help mold future content for our conferences and offer the best attendee experience possible for attendees," said Colin Holland, Content Director, UBM Electronics. "It's a tremendous honor for us to receive this award. This win showcases our passion to create innovative and powerful solutions for the electronics industry."
Other min's Best of the Web award winners include Sports Illustrated, People, Conde Nast, Time Inc. and Bloomberg L.P.
