UBM Announces Free Educational Content at MD&M Minneapolis and MinnPack
SANTA MONICA, California, October 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
This week, UBM Canon will host its MD&M Minneapolis and MinnPack co-located event at the Minneapolis Convention Center. MD&M Minneapolis will provide medical device manufacturers with a comprehensive medical design and manufacturing event. MinnPack will provide packaging resources for the 145,000 manufacturers located in Minnesota and surrounding states-including consumer packaged goods, food, beverage, electronics and fabricated metals. This year's event features a 3 day, 3 track conference as well as free educational sessions located on the expo hall in the new Tech Theater from October 29-30, 2013.
"The expo hall floor allows attendees to not only meet over 600 exhibitors, but also provides the opportunity to learn about new technology and topics that personally interest them in the Tech Theater," explained Louise Challis, UBM Canon Conference Director. The Tech Theater focuses on the latest broad-based technological innovations.
On Tuesday, the Tech Theater will feature a keynote speech by Frank Jaskulke, Director Membership for Minneapolis based LifeScience Alley. The trade association promotes life sciences in the United States and aims to secure Minnesota as a global leader for the industry. Jaskulke will present, "The world has changed: What are we going to do about it?" and will explain LifeScience Alley's Innovation Engine, a comprehensive approach to improving policy, relationships and culture among Minnesota's public, private and academic sectors.
Other topics over the two days include: 3D printing, product teardowns including the new of iPhones and the Fitbit Flex wearable tracker.
On Wednesday, the Tech Theater will also highlight a panel discussion of award winning medical device innovators on the challenges and rewards they experience in designing and manufacturing devices. Panelists include: Andreas C. Pfahnl, Sc.D., Chief Technology Officer of Devicix; Daniel Dion, Principal Industrial Designer for Benchmark Electronics; and Brad Slaker, Founder of DesignWise Medical Inc. The moderator is Pamela L. Moore, Senior Vice President, Content & Strategy for UBM Canon.
Other educational presentations in the Tech Theater will be given by Molex, Promed Molded Products, Specialty Coating Systems, Tekscan, Toxikon Corporation, and Valtronic.
