UBiqube Strengthens Lanner Edge Ecosystem with Integrated Automation Platform
TAIPEI, Taiwan and DUBLIN, April 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Lanner, the global leading supplier in whitebox uCPE and MEC platforms, today announced its collaboration with UBiqube, the leader in Integrated Automation Platforms (IAP), to strengthen its dynamic uCPE offering for emerging 'cloud ready' edge networks.
Lanner's next generation whitebox uCPE NCA-1515 combined with UBiqube's MSActivator™ Integrated Automation Platform delivers the 'Agility by Design' that the future of edge networks demands. The 'MSActivator™ Powered' NCA-1515 results in an evergreen uCPE solution that can onboard VNFs as they come from any vendor and any domain and provide for the automation of the related operational processes.
The newly released NCA-1515 hardware features 4~16 cores Intel Atom C3000 CPU and GbE/SFP+ LAN ports, giving it ample room to handle the compute intensive VNFs that may be onboarded over its lifetime.
Testimonial to its interoperable architecture, NCA-1515 receives global homologation from CE and FCC and features Wi-Fi/LTE/5G connectivity with PTCRB for Verizon and AT&T certifications.
UBiqube's MSActivator™ is the industry leading Integrated Automation Platform. Its highly abstracted modelling and development interfaces makes it easy to integrate VNFs from any vendor and any domain and provides a Business Process Development interface (BPM) making the NCA-1515 uCPE 'ready for automation.'
'Agile SD-WAN' is the first illustrative use case for the combined technologies, leading to an industry first SD-Wan solution which can be tailored over time without any vendor lock-in (any of the SD-Wan features can be replaced for cost and performance) and designed with automation readiness for future digital infrastructure automation plans the customer may have.
"We are excited to have UBiqube join our white box ecosystem to help us lead edge automation. The combination of UBiqube and the Lanner uCPE platform will help service providers simplify the deployment of multi-vendor uCPE-based services like SD-WAN," said Sven Freudenfeld, CTO of Lanner Telecom Applications Business Unit. "The combined agile SD-WAN solution removes the headaches associated with VNF integration and achieves multi-vendor SD-WAN zero-touch provisioning through automation."
"There is a paradigm change at the edge which combines technology and business model changes which will lead to greater agility and automation readiness, for future MEC and 5G-related applications and disrupt the legacy of premium pricing inherited from vendor lock-in. I am looking forward to our partnership with Lanner to lead this needed transformation in our industry," said Herve Guesdon, CTO of UBiqube.
