U. S. Steel President And CEO Applauds Affirmative Decisions By Department Of Commerce In Trade Cases
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) President and CEO Mario Longhi issued the following statement in response to the Department of Commerce (DOC)'s affirmative decisions in the three trade cases the Company was a petitioner in – corrosion-resistant, cold-rolled and hot-rolled. The DOC announced its affirmative final determinations in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning imports of hot-rolled steel against Australia, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Turkey and the United Kingdom today.
Longhi's statement follows:
"United States Steel Corporation is pleased by the Department of Commerce's final determinations in each of the three flat-rolled trade cases we filed in 2015. The DOC's thorough investigations have resulted in findings confirming what we knew to be true – that these countries have subsidized and dumped steel products on our shores.
