U-Haul Reveals Plans for Lot Adjacent to West McKinney Store

MCKINNEY, Texas, Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul has announced it will continue expanding its McKinney facilities.

U-Haul recently acquired a vacant lot adjacent to U-Haul Moving & Storage of West McKinney at 10061 W. University Drive. The Company will use the land to build a new climate-controlled self-storage facility and add more RV, boat and vehicle storage spaces.

"I am very excited to see the growth in McKinney and the surrounding communities," U-Haul Company of Northwest Dallas president Kevin Lindell said. "We have a great store here already and we are looking forward to expanding the services we can offer."

The 8.5-acre acquisition will complement the store's existing 520 self-storage units as well as the 144 storage spaces at U-Haul RV, Boat and Trailer Storage of West McKinney, located just next door at 10057 W. University Drive.

"There are a lot of families in this area that enjoy camping and being outdoors, but they don't always have the space to maintain the vehicles on their property," Lindell said. "U-Haul is happy to assist those families with secure storage spaces."

Lindell said his fully staffed stores currently employ 25 Team Members, but with the new self-storage building, there will be opportunities for additional hiring. U-Haul aims to hire locally to promote job growth within the communities it serves.
