U-Haul, the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage, covers a lot of ground as well. The orange-clad trucks and trailers are a perfect fit for Kid Gloves Restoration and owner Mike Maloney, who utilizes U-Haul on a recurring basis to transport items to and from homes.
"Because we used U-Haul so often, we wanted to offer it to our customers as well," Maloney said. "If people want us to come and pack up their household furniture so they can move, we are able to do that now."
Kid Gloves Restoration at 30 Scribner Drive is one of U-Haul Company's newest neighborhood dealers, offering trucks, trailers and towing equipment, support rental items, in-store pickup for boxes and after-hours drop-off.

Situated on the Indiana side of the Ohio River, just a stone's throw from Louisville, Kids Glove Restoration draws customers from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio for restoration services and U-Haul rentals.
Kid Gloves Restoration evolved from a dry cleaning business in 2013. Maloney was supported by his wife, Marsha, in making the business transition.
As a dry cleaner, Maloney worked with chemicals and removed scents from fabric. The switch to furniture restoration was not a giant leap, Maloney said.
"Part of what we did was clean coats that had been in contact with smoke," he said. "Now, we use the same process on a different product."
After a house has endured a fire, Kid Gloves Restoration gathers "hard contents" like furniture, appliances and toys. Through a molecule-splitting smoke removal process, the items are cleaned and refinished. Maloney compares the process to lightning splitting oxygen molecules in the air.
"When you want to handle something with care, the saying is that you handle it with 'kid gloves,'" Maloney said. "Our goal is to handle everything well."
Kid Gloves Restoration is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
