New online services to remember registration, protect against title fraud

What: TxDMV Press Conference to introduce two new online consumer services to help Texans protect themselves against title fraud, and remember their registration renewal date.
Texas has the second-highest number of registered vehicles in the country – more than 21 million. eReminder will help them remember when it's time to renew their vehicle registration. Many Texans fall victim to title fraud. Title Check will allow Texans to see whether a used vehicle they plan to buy has a clean title.
When and Where: 3:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 7, Omni Bayfront Hotel, 900 N. Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi. The press conference will be in the Bayview Room.

This is the TxDMV's first press conference in Corpus Christi since becoming a new agency two years ago. The event is scheduled in conjunction with the 77th annual Tax Assessor-Collectors Association Conference at the Omni Bayfront Hotel where tax assessor-collectors and their staff members from the state's 254 counties are meeting.
