MIAMI, Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 28 at 11PM E/P, Discovery en Espanol presents the second season of Gen H (Generacion Hispana), an original production that reflects the positive energy and drive of young Hispanics who follow their own rules and represent the Generation of the New Millennium. The new season of Gen H (#genh) features two intrepid explorers: Venezuelan blogger Daniela Zabala and Mexican publicist Pepe Carmona, who embark on a transformative journey into the unknown to find themselves.

Armed only with a backpack and the conviction that the journey matters more than the destination itself, the protagonists set off on an adventure to the interior of Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental and the jungle of Tikal in Guatemala. In each place, they face a series of challenges that test their limits and bring them closer to the local culture, people and customs.
In Mexico, Daniela and Pepe visit the village of the Tarahumaras, legendary long-distance runners who live in the Tonachi Mountains in the Sierra Madre Occidental. They take part in the daily life of the village and participate in various traditional activities, including the endurance running for which the Tarahumara are famous. The second stage of their journey takes Daniela and Pepe to Guatemala on a survivalist expedition in the jungle in Tikal and the underground caverns of Cueva del Rio, where they learn about the lives of the Mayan descendants who still live there. By the end of their travels, the explorers understand how experiencing a new culture and location can transform their lives from ordinary to extraordinary if they open their hearts and minds.
About the Gen H protagonists:
Daniela Zabala, a journalist, blogger and explorer, is the perfect embodiment of Generation H. She began her career as a journalist in Venezuela and moved to Miami ten years ago to become a public relations executive, but quit her job to pursue her life's dream of exploring the world. In her blog, "Diaries of a Backpacker," Daniela shares her adventures in far-flung locations such as New Zealand, Ethiopia and Iran.
Pepe Carmona was born in Guadalajara, Mexico but has lived in Miami since he was 22. Pepe is a publicist, TV producer and photographer. His sense of adventure has taken him to many different places around the world, including Vietnam, where he lived for a year.
