Two vendors receive contract for statewide Common Core implementation

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Solution Tree and Knowledge Delivery Systems (KDS) have collaborated to provide targeted professional development services to educators in New Mexico. Their proposal was chosen from a number of competitive entries for its scope of work, which combines various types of professional development to provide continuous year-round support, integrating components such as personal on-site training, quantitative and qualitative program evaluation, online courses in core content areas, and interactive webinars.

This multipronged approach will provide thousands of educators in New Mexico with content and support to help them build foundational knowledge. A guiding coalition comprised of members of various task forces and working groups will oversee the implementation of the professional development program and ensure continuity in alignment with other New Mexico initiatives. A designing coalition will work closely with the guiding coalition to create statewide processes and materials for the implementation of the CCSS and assessments that adhere to the rigor and relevance demanded. Regional Common Core mentors will work on-site to develop a statewide network of support for districtwide implementation through ongoing, need-focused work with designing coalition members.
