"The last several decades have expanded our understanding of the genetic and molecular causes of autoimmune diseases. This information now has to be applied to the care of patients suffering from these conditions, and that will be the focus of the next decade," explains Dr. Venuturupalli. He notes that the move coincides with his desire for growth in the areas of patient education and autoimmune disease research and widens the service of their respective infusion centers.
In addition to evolving his clinical practice in the areas of lupus, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, Dr. Venuturupalli notes that the association will continue to teach and lecture on a wide variety of health topics. Dr. Venuturupalli explains his philosophy simply, "As a physician, I believe that every case is unique, and how lupus affects one person is vastly different than how it affects another. It has been my endeavor to try and understand each individual patient and tailor my approach to their particular illness."
"Dr. Venuturupalli is an inspiration," comments Kathy Ireland CEO of kathy ireland Worldwide (kiWW) who has addressed part of her health activism to the progress of knowledge in auto-immune concerns. "His commitment to the battle against Lupus and his leadership and knowledge in the pivotal role of managing inflammation is a pathway to better living for people everywhere."
Kathy Ireland is recognized as one of the top 10 Women's Health Advocates in America. Today, kiWW confirmed plans to collaborate with Dr. Venuturupalli on making critical information available on Lupus and the role of inflammation in health and wellness.
Dr. Venutrupalli states that he finds he is able to reach only a limited number of individuals through his practice and wants to find ways to educate patients about the advances in care for lupus and related disorders. He has taken to the web in order to achieve this. He is the featured expert on the WebMD Lupus Support Group (http://exchanges.webmd.com/lupus-exchange) and uses his website to disseminate tips on healthy living and exercise.
The move to collaborate with Dr. Wallace will allow both doctors to have access to each others' patients and provide a superior level of care for autoimmune diseases, which can sometimes be serious and life threatening. "Having collaborated with Dr. Venuturupalli on many clinical trials, this move is perfect synergy," says Dr. Wallace.
