Two New Wi-Fi/WiMAX Patents Represent Breakthrough In Medical Simulation Technology
World Renowned Inventor Donald Spector has Another Two Patents Granted for New Research Consortium
NEW YORK, July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lisa Pamintuan, President of New York College of Health Professions, announces two more patents granted for the College's highly coveted Intellectual Patent Portfolio. Recently, the College announced Memorandums of Understanding with Touro College/New York Medical College and Wake Forest Innovations to develop and commercialize certain technologies. The College has also indicated that it is working with multi-billion dollar global companies on some of its patents and expects other universities and corporations to join its network in the near future.
The Wi-Fi/WiMAX patents, along with the CIPs, will enable remote devices to access Internet channels as well as smartphones, simply by touching parts of the devices. Whether used for famous venues such as stadiums and theme parks, celebrities or even medical mannequins, this technology will appear to allow people to magically access information from the Internet as well as dedicated and personalized sites and playlists.
Dr. Alan Kadish, President of the Touro College and University System and its affiliate New York Medical College says, "We are presently working on state-of-the-art holographic simulation that will transform the way medicine, particularly anatomy, physiology and surgery, is taught in the future. This simple Wi-Fi/WiMAX system will enable those who need inexpensive simulation anywhere in the world, or at any level, to begin to enter the exciting world of medical simulation."
Pamintuan states, "While having specific uses in traditional education there will be many consumer items stemming from this breakthrough as well, ranging from toys to stuffed animal figures that teach, which will be licensed to non-educational companies in the near-future. Don Spector's patents tend to be very broad and have many uses. Having opened up billion-dollar industries ranging from electronic aromatherapy, for which Squibb (Bristol-Myers Squibb) set up a separate division for Spector's patents, to consumer products including the first hydraulic exerciser (the Muscleworker, Bruce Jenner Exerciser), the first known patents for location-based advertising, patents for new smart credit cards, advanced medical equipment and hundreds of other patents. These new patents will open up new vistas in our world-class patent portfolio."
WiMAX streaming to independent wireless objects will open a new frontier and appear to have the same magic as the first radios and televisions, though they will have a customization never before seen in broadcasting. Spector added, "Many of the technologies that are possible with WiMAX and the technological marvels of smartphones, which are relatively new, have not been applied to new consumer, educational and medical products."
