Two New Offers from United States Mint Help Shoppers during Holiday Season
Products Available at Bureau of Engraving and Printing Gift Shop or Online with Free Shipping
WASHINGTON, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Coin and currency enthusiasts – avid collectors and casual consumers alike – can now shop for both coin and currency products in the same venue. The United States Mint has partnered with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) to sell products at BEP's gift shop, located in the Visitors Center of its Washington, DC Headquarters. For those not local or traveling to the Nation's capital, the United States Mint is also offering free standard shipping for online purchases through December 6.
"United States Mint coin products are a natural complement to the currency items sold at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing," said United States Mint Deputy Director Richard A. Peterson. "We are providing easier access for shoppers by selling them onsite at the BEP and offering them online with free shipping."
Items available at the gift shop range from core coins and medals to limited-time commemorative products, which will be sold alongside popular BEP items such as currency sets and sheets. Products related to the 2013 Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial Commemorative Coin Program and the 2013 5-Star Generals Commemorative Coin Program will also be sold at the gift shop, making it easier for customers to buy before sales for the limited-time programs close on December 31.
As part of its Cyber Week shopping promotion, the Mint is also offering free standard shipping and reducing the cost of expedited shipping by $4.95 on all domestic web orders placed through Friday, December 6 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
As an added incentive for shoppers in the Washington, DC area, Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios will conduct public signings on Friday, December 6 and Friday, December 20 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the BEP Visitors Center. The Visitors Center is located at 14th and C Streets, SW in Washington and is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
