LANSING, Mich., June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Across its 352 unit system, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is preparing for the busiest moving weekend of the year. On an average weekend, the company records 3,600 moves system-wide with individual locations averaging 13 moves per weekend. However, from Friday, June 23 – Sunday, June 25, the company is expecting more than 5,500 moves across the U.S.
The largest franchised moving company in the United States estimates that it will be moving 33,000,000 pounds over the course of this weekend alone. Drivers for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® are expected to travel 343,750 miles.
"This is our biggest weekend of the year, and we will have more than 2,800 moving trucks on the roads helping families move forward to the next stages of their lives," said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK CEO Jeff Wesley. "Our movers and drivers will be completing two moves every minute, working at an incredible pace while maintaining our commitment to providing premium moving services earning our 96 percent referral rate."
To celebrate the company's busiest time of year and show customer appreciation, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®'s corporate team is also surprising lucky families with free moves.
"We know that moving is a stressful time, and we greatly appreciate everyone who gives us the privilege and trust in moving their belongings. We think this is the perfect time of year to give back in communities that have been so loyal to us," said Wesley. "We strive to live our core values every day of the year, so surprising families with a move on us is a fun way to do that."
Historically, the last weekend of June has always been the busiest weekend of the year for the national franchise brand, and this year will continue the trend. But one thing will soon be changing for the company – the distance of the moves.
The average move for a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® customer is usually 25 miles, but that is expected to grow with the company's recent national launch of a long-distance move solution: Value Flex®. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has always offered an expedited move service, which transports a customer's belongings directly to their new residence. As a cost-saving solution for customers, the Value Flex® service offers a reduced price on long-distance moves by efficiently planning move logistics. A Value Flex® move utilizes the service of a dedicated TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® long-haul carrier to transport the container to another franchise near the customer's final destination. From there, that local team will make the delivery and unload items at the customer's new location.
Some of the cities that will be seeing the most moves this weekend, that also serve as hubs for the new Value Flex® program include Lansing, Michigan; Cincinnati, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; Memphis, Tennessee; Rockford, Illinois; Greensboro, North Carolina; Toms River, New Jersey; Rocky Hill, Connecticut; Pasadena, California; Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; Omaha, Nebraska; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colorado and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
"We have been embraced by local communities for our customer service for years, and we have always strived to exceed their expectations for all moves, no matter how big or how small," said Wesley. "Value Flex® will allow customers who have loved using us locally in the past, to work with us for their long-distance moving needs as well."
