Two Local Community Organizations to Receive Partnership Grants

BATESVILLE, Ark., Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Habitat for Humanity of Independence County (HFHIC) and Main Street Batesville, Inc. will each be presented with a substantial grant from First Community Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), Friday October 10, 2014.

First Community Bank is a member of FHLB Dallas, and participates in its Partnership Grant Program (PGP). Thanks to this collaboration, Main Street Batesville, Inc. will receive a $14,741 PGP grant and HFHIC will receive a $20,000 grant.

HFHIC officials say the grant will help cover operational expenses, including the running of its resell store. Main Street Batesville will use the grant to improve the aesthetics and infrastructure of downtown Batesville.

Officials from First Community Bank, FHLB Dallas, and the city, as well as representatives from both organizations, will be on hand for the official check presentations.
