Two Hospital Leaders Appointed to National Award's Advisory Board
ATLANTA, May 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jill Stowers, with Indiana University Health, and Roxanne Elliott, with FirstHealth of the Carolinas, have joined the advisory board of the Hospital Charitable Services Awards, a national program sponsored by Jackson Healthcare.
Stowers and Elliott will be joining five existing board members to provide direction for the Awards Program. Like the other board members, both Stowers and Elliott represent hospital community programs that were past Hospital Charitable Services Award winners.
Stowers currently serves as the Clinical Lead Manager of Community Health at Indiana University Health in Bloomington, Indiana. Prior to her current role, she served as program manager for Positive Link, a program which provides comprehensive prevention and holistic social services to individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS in south central Indiana. Under Stowers, Positive Link was named a 2014 Program of Excellence. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and served as President of the South Central Indiana Community AIDS Action Group from 2008-2013.
Elliott serves as Policy Director for Community Health Services at FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, North Carolina. In this role, she works in conjunction with community partners to develop and implement plans for policy work at the local, state and federal levels in the areas of access to care, men's health, mental health, tobacco, health disparities and obesity prevention. She has oversight responsibility for data tracking and identifying areas of opportunity with regards to community health initiatives, implementation of outreach programs, coordination of marketing campaigns and evaluation of programs. Under Elliott, FirstHealth's community program, FirstReach, was named a 2013 Program of Excellence.
