CHICAGO, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- HighTower, the nation's first advisor-owned financial services firm serving wealthy families and institutional clients, announces that two of its advisors are included in Barron's magazine's list of "Top 100 Financial Advisors for 2013."

Barron's selected Paul A. Pagnato, Partner and Managing Director of HighTower's Reston, VA-based Pagnato-Karp Group, and Richard Saperstein, Managing Director, Principal and Chief Investment Officer of HighTower's New York, NY-based Treasury Partners, for its 2013 compilation of the "Top 100 Financial Advisors." Mr. Pagnato was ranked 96th and Mr. Saperstein was ranked fifth. They were both named to the Barron's "Top 1000 Financial Advisors by State" list earlier this year.
Barron's publishes its "Top 100 Financial Advisors" ranking every April to recognize those advisors who demonstrate exceptional performance, client service, professionalism and community involvement. The top 100 advisors are determined by factors such as assets under management, practice quality and generated revenues. Unlike the magazine's "Top 1000 Financial Advisors by State" ranking, which is published annually in February, Barron's does not rank its top 100 advisors by location.
"Paul and Richard exemplify some of the best corner-office advisors in the country. They thrive at HighTower because they embody our commitment to act as fiduciaries on behalf of our clients," said Elliot Weissbluth, Chief Executive Officer of HighTower. "This recognition from Barron's demonstrates that HighTower continues to restore trust among investors who are seeking greater transparency and objectivity from the financial services industry."
The Barron's rankings come during a period of impressive growth for HighTower. The firm has added 37 advisor teams since its inception in 2008, including 10 in the past year. HighTower currently employs 262 professionals spread throughout 24 offices in 14 states.
Mr. Pagnato joined HighTower in August 2011 after spending more than 19 years with Merrill Lynch, where he founded the firm's Private Banking & Investment office in Washington, DC. He was previously named one of the "Top 100 Financial Advisors" by Barron's in 2012. The Pagnato-Karp Group specializes in meeting the unique needs of the nation's wealthiest individuals and their families, and oversees more than $2 billion in client assets.
Mr. Saperstein has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services sector and joined HighTower in April 2009 after J.P. Morgan's acquisition of Bear Stearns, his previous employer, where he and his team established and oversaw the Cash Management Group. Treasury Partners delivers a wide variety of conservative cash and wealth management services to corporate and private clients. It oversees $9.3 billion in client assets. Barron's has included Mr. Saperstein in its "Top 100 Financial Advisors" list every year since 2004.
"By providing advisors with the sophisticated investment products, technology, tools and research they need to meet the evolving needs of investors, HighTower enables independent advisors to focus on delivering the highest levels of service, support and education to their clients," said Mr. Weissbluth. "This is why HighTower continues to attract advisor teams from around the country whose singular mission is to act in the best interest of clients."
