Two Health Industry Award Wins for Projects In Knowledge®
Recognition for Redesigned Company Website and Tumor Immunology Living Medical eTextbook Mobile App
LITTLE FALLS, N.J., July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Projects In Knowledge, a fully accredited developer of continuing medical education (CME/CE) activities and cutting-edge digital and mobile information tools for busy clinicians, has received awards in two health industry competitions.
The company's website (www.projectsinknowledge.com) won an Award of Excellence in the 2011 APEX Awards competition for "Most Improved Web and Intranet Site." Launched in August 2010, the completely redesigned site provides greatly improved content organization and navigation, several new visual elements, more precise user customization options, and numerous technical upgrades. The 181 submissions in this category were judged on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.
The iPhone/iPad app for Projects In Knowledge's Living Medical eTextbook: Update to the Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy: Metastatic Melanoma Edition (http://lmt.projectsinknowledge.com/oncology/2001) received a "Mobile Application" Merit Award in the 2011 Web Health Awards winter/spring competition. This widely used app provides clinicians with convenient point-of-care access to comprehensive, up-to-date information on tumor immunology and the treatment of metastatic melanoma. A panel of health technology professionals judged all competition entries based on content, format, success in reaching the targeted health audience, and overall quality.
This is the second time the Living Medical eTextbook mobile app has won accolades for excellence. In December 2010 it was named a top-10 free iPhone app for healthcare professionals in a survey researched and conducted by iMedicalApps (http://www.imedicalapps.com/2010/12/bes-free-iphone-medical-apps-doctors-health-care-professionals/8/).
"We're honored that both our redesigned website and the mobile app for our groundbreaking Living Medical eTextbook clinical resource have been recognized as among the best of the best," said Patty Peterson, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at Projects In Knowledge. "Our goal is to maintain this standard of excellence as we continue to develop and deliver the point-of-care educational tools and resources that will help clinicians improve patient care."
