Twistlock Recognized in Independent Research Report on Container Security
PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Twistlock, the leader in container and cloud native cyber security, today announced that Forrester Research has recognized the company as a container security platform based on required capabilities in its newly published report, "Now Tech: Container Security, Q4 2018." The report looks at trends in container adoption, core security requirements for securing containers and an overview of the container security market landscape.
Forrester included 24 vendors in the report, which recommends 10 distinct controls to secure containers: use trusted images, reduce clutter, sign images and verify signatures, enforce secrets management, segment the network, authenticate users, scan for vulnerabilities, harden the OS, govern operations and implement intrusion detections.
According to the report, container security platforms like Twistlock offer "high segment functionality" — the highest of three functionality segments — in five areas: Security improvement, access and control of product, access and control of containers, CI/CD integration and governance.
"I believe that Forrester's recognition of Twistlock as a container security platform is a validation of our approach to container security," said Ben Bernstein, chief executive officer, Twistlock. "As containers become the de facto standard for cloud computing, adopting an automated, full lifecycle approach to container security is of the utmost importance. At Twistlock, we have always believed this approach provides more efficient, more effective security."
Twistlock's flagship platform, Twistlock 2.5, unifies protection for containers, serverless functions, and container-as-a-service platforms like AWS Fargate into a single, full-lifecycle, full stack security platform. Twistlock 2.5 features industry-first cloud native forensics capabilities, which flip traditional incident response and forensics capabilities on their head, empowering security operators to respond faster to breaches and attacks.
"Twistlock is proud to see official partners — Docker, Google, IBM, Red Hat, Pivotal and CyberArk — recognized in the report as we aim to continue improving the security of the cloud native ecosystem together," said John Leon, vice president of business development and alliances, Twistlock.
Twistlock's geographic presence spans North America (75 percent); Europe/Middle East/Africa (20 percent) and Asia Pacific (5 percent). The company serves customers across categories of financial services, healthcare and high tech. Customers include PayPal, Walgreens and Aetna. Its annual container security revenue is greater than $10M.
