Twin Cities' EPG Security Group Lands Security Contracts for Large-Scale Events in 2014
Red Bull Crashed Ice - Ice Cross Downhill Race in February, Summer Set Music & Camping Festival in August
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EPG Security Group announced today it has been selected as the new security firm for two hot-ticket events in the region for 2014: Red Bull Crashed Ice, an International Ice Cross Downhill race held in St. Paul this February, which is expected to attract more than 100,000 spectators on race day, Feb. 22; and Summer Set Music & Camping Festival, held over a three-day August weekend in Somerset, Wis., which will draw more than 18,000 concert-goers and campers each day. Both the Red Bull Crashed Ice and Summer Set Music & Camping Festival are entering their third year of producing these events, and both have changed their security vendor contracts to EPG Security Group.
"EPG saved the day for us in 2013, when another company fell through just two weeks before our event and EPG stepped right in," said Jonathan Keogh, director of festival operations for Festival Management Services, Inc., the Pennsylvania-based company that manages Summer Set Music & Camping Festival. "They were easy to deal with, attentive, knowledgeable, and most importantly, delivered on their promises. Their preplanning methods were impressive and went well beyond what was expected. During the event all of EPG's interactions with promoters, talent, and patrons were professional, from front line agents up to the senior management, at all times of day or night. It truly came across that they take pride in their profession. We have already contracted with EPG for Summer Set 2014, and we are in talks to use them at other festivals in the future."
"There were several reasons EPG was selected to provide security services for the 2014 Red Bull Crashed Ice event in St. Paul. Primarily it was the professionalism shown by Erik and his team in our initial face to face meeting that turned out to be the main factor when making our decision," said Andrew Markey, President of Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA based Hangman Productions which produces the Red Bull Crashed Ice event in St. Paul. "The build out for the Red Bull Crashed Ice event in St. Paul is a massive undertaking that spans over a five-week period, all the while requiring a vast range of security personnel. The event will require anywhere from six security agents all the way up to nearly 200 agents on February 22, 2014, the day of the finals. The Hangman team are in agreement that EPG is very aware of the magnitude, prestige, and reputation this event brings with it, and our expectation is that they will go over and above to make sure the Red Bull Crashed Ice event will be a top notch in their belt."
"For nearly 30 years, the Upper Midwest has had limited choices for security companies that could handle large-scale events and festivals," said Erik Bergling, CEO of EPG Security Group. "With EPG's strong and steady growth over the past few years, we are now well positioned to provide a new option for event and festival producers."
