tvsdesign expands its practice in China

SHANGHAI, Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Global architecture and design firm tvsdesign welcomes Scott Taricco to tvsdesign's China practice, where he will cultivate relationships and lead projects in the region. The firm also has promoted longtime development officer Yaomin Xue to Director of its Shanghai office.

Taricco returns to tvsdesign, where he spent 14 years earlier in his career. Most recently, he spent eight years at the helm of an international firm's Beijing operation, leading corporate and commercial office, hospitality, cultural, and mixed-use projects. No stranger to large-scale work, Taricco's portfolio consists of complex projects averaging 140,000 square meters in size. While at tvsdesign, Taricco led the design process on such notable projects as the Equifax global headquarters in Atlanta and Takeda Pharmaceuticals' North American headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois.

Xue began his career with tvsdesign in 1999 managing Asia-Pacific operations and spearheading the firm's migration into Chinese markets. His role has since expanded beyond securing and negotiating contracts, as he now serves as a liaison on early design phases, ensuring clarity of objectives and all communications. He has advised on three large convention center projects–including the Ningxia International Convention Center currently under construction–as well as some of the largest retail complexes in China. Xue's best practices in managing Asian-American business relationships were recognized by The LEADER Magazine, which recently published his article on navigating the two cultures for successful architecture and design projects.

Taricco earned a bachelor's in architectural design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and master's degrees in architecture and business administration from the University of Illinois, where he was a Plym Fellow.

Xue earned a master's in management from Clemson University and a master's in architecture from the University of Tennesee.
