TV Land Announces Tape and Air Date for '8th Annual TV Land Awards'

LOS ANGELES, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- TV Land announced today that it will tape its "8th TV Land Awards" show on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, CA on April 17, 2010. Set to tape on Sony's historic Stage 15 where iconic films like "The Wizard Of Oz" and "Spiderman™" and "Spiderman 2™" were shot. "TV Land Awards" is set to premiere on TV Land on Sunday, April 25th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Now in its eighth year, the "TV Land Awards" pays tribute to luminaries of television, music and movies from present day and beyond. The ninety-minute telecast will feature exhilarating musical performances and will reunite some of the most iconic celebrity TV casts.
According to Nielsen Media Research, last year's "TV Land Awards," hosted by Neil Patrick Harris delivered TV Land's core A25-54 audience rating of 0.5/534,000, up +50% in rating and +51% in delivery over YAGO. Among its target demo A40-54, the network posted a 0.8/447,000, a 60% increase in rating and up +62% in delivery vs. the same time period last year. The network averaged over 1.1 million total viewers for the telecast, up +24% over the previous year.
Previous honorees include Mike Myers, Garry Marshall, the cast of "Desperate Housewives" and the hilarious sitcoms "Cheers," "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "M*A*S*H*." Past presenters include Academy Award©-winner Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, Ray Romano, Steve Carell, Billy Crystal, Sharon Stone, Robin Williams and Academy Award©-nominee Robert Downey, Jr. to name a few. Past musical performers include Diana Ross, Willie Nelson and Lionel Ritchie.
