NEW YORK, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tutor.com, the largest online tutoring service in the U.S., announced today that it has reached a milestone of delivering 15 million one-to-one tutoring sessions. A brand of The Princeton Review, Tutor.com offers on-demand tutoring sessions to individuals through the Tutor.com and Princeton Review websites, as well as through partnerships with libraries, colleges and universities, K-12 school districts, the United States Department of Defense, and corporate employee benefit programs.
Each day, thousands of students visit Tutor.com to get help in one of the 45-plus subjects available to support students in middle school, high school, and college. Tutor.com helps students succeed in their schoolwork; 96% of students say the service helps them improve their grades, complete more assignments and feel more confident, according to post-session surveys.
"We are honored to have been there for students—right when they needed us—15 million times," said Kate Eberle Walker, CEO of The Princeton Review. "The key to our success in helping students is our network of highly-screened expert tutors. Our tutors are the best in the business, and our students value having access to these top tutors on-demand 24 hours a day, seven days a week." The tutor onboarding process, which includes rigorous subject tests, education verification and background checks, is so challenging that in 2016, less than three percent of Tutor.com applicants were able to successfully meet all criteria and qualify to tutor.
After serving its first session in 1998, Tutor.com has continued to innovate to stay on the cutting edge of the education tech industry. In 2014, Tutor.com and The Princeton Review joined forces to help students succeed on their educational journeys. The Princeton Review recently launched a new Homework Help app, to make it easier for students to start an on-demand session on the go. In addition, Tutor.com recently unveiled the SAT/®ACT® Essentials offering to its library clients, giving more students access to The Princeton Review's world class test preparation services.
"We're proud to have served 15 million sessions and look forward to continuing our thriving partnerships with our clients," said Walker, "As we look toward the future, we're excited to develop new partnerships while continuing to develop innovative ways to support students of all ages to help them achieve their academic dreams."
