Turner Completes Sixteen K-12 School Projects in Time for Start of the 2010 Fall Semester in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
Construction Projects to Serve More than 12,450 Area Students
NEW YORK, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Construction Company, the nation's largest builder of education facilities, has completed sixteen K-12 school projects to serve more than 12,450 students in time for the start of the 2010 school year in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
These school projects are part of Turner's $2.3 billion of education and science construction projects that are currently being managed by the company.
Turner, together with D.A.G. Construction Company and TYS Construction Services, completed construction of six buildings as part of the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) partnership with the Cincinnati Public School District. The education facilities include the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies (AMIS), College Hill, Hughes Center, North Avondale Montessori, Sands Montessori and the Erich Kunzel Center for Arts and Education will open to an estimated total of 4,800 students.
Turner has also completed construction of Turkey Foot Middle School for the Kenton County School District, which opens to an estimated 950 students. Mt. Healthy North Elementary and Mt. Healthy South Elementary Schools of the Mt. Healthy City Schools also are ready to open to an estimated 2,000 students.
In addition, Turner is completing the construction of four elementary schools for Hamilton City Schools, Brookwood Elementary, Crawford Woods Elementary, Highland Elementary and Riverview Elementary. These four schools combined will serve 1,600 students. Milford High School of the Milford Exempted Village Schools will also open to 1800 students. West Clermont Local Schools will open Amelia Elementary School and Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School to a combined 1,300 students.
