Turner Awarded $54.7 Million Contract by the New York City School Construction Authority to Construct PS/IS 51M in New York, N.Y.
NEW YORK, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Construction Company, the nation's largest builder of education facilities, has been awarded a $54.7 million contract to provide construction services by the New York City School Construction Authority for PS/IS 51M in New York, N.Y. The project is scheduled for substantial completion in July 2013, in time for the coming school year.
The scope of work includes construction of a 98,433 sq. ft. school located on West 44th Street in Manhattan to accommodate 640 students. The facility will include 24 classrooms, two special education classrooms in addition to other educational amenities and faculty facilities.
