NEW YORK, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following the release of a "Dear Colleague" letter to all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives by Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Penn.), Derya Taskin, President of the Turkish Institute for Progress (www.turkishprogress.org) released the following statement:
"The Turkish Institute for Progress (TIP) applauds Congressman Shuster for his efforts to further a robust and meaningful dialogue between Turkey and Armenia. Our two countries have so many interests in common and our goal as an organization is to find ways to meet on this common ground so we can mourn the millions of Ottoman Turks, Kurds, Arabs, and Armenians who died during this tragic period a century ago. In so doing, we will be able to come together, bridge our differences, and figure out a way to move forward to bring reconciliation, peace, and prosperity to the region for the next hundred years."
