Tresize emerged in the music scene with his debut album Soul Casino in 2013. Turk enlisted Andrija Tokic [Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Benjamin Booker] at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, TN to record and produce the album. Soul Casino incorporated a cast of an exceptionally talented group of artists, most notably, Brittany Howard [Alabama Shakes] as a backing vocalist.
The outcome of Soul Casino led to Tresize and Tokic teaming up again for the making of If It Is to Be. Tokic provided the "raw" and "gritty" sound that best represents Turk's artistry by capturing the audio to two-inch reel-to-reel tape.
If It Is to Be was tracked at various studios throughout Australia and the United States. The album contains work from more A-list session players. The album highlights performances by Micah Hulscher [Emmylou Harris], Bob Hatter [Randy Houser, Keith Anderson], William Ellis [Montgomery Gentry, Hunter Hays, Travis Tritt] and John Henry Trinko [Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser] amongst others.
If It Is to Be is a record that incorporates multiple genres into each of its songs. The album's influences draw from multiple decades of the world's best rock musicology while maintaining a sound of its own.
Tresize challenges modern rock by incorporating genuine storytelling into his songs. Critics have compared Tresize to bands ranging from Tom Petty and Pink Floyd to Lenny Kravitz and The Rolling Stones. The genre-bending album combines classic rock, modern rock, folk, and blues all into one timeless piece of work.
"Australian born and raised Turk Tresize is a fresh and down-to-earth artist who crosses genre lines and barriers to create music that is powerfully refreshing, bringing bright and diverse flavors to the blues-rock scene, embracing southern rock and country as well as his blues rock inspiration" - Jill Jacobs - Blues Rock Review
Upon the release of If It Is to Be, Turk's band will begin touring the United States and Australia. The growing list of tour dates is available on turktresize.com. Follow Turk Tresize on Facebook and Twitter [@turktresize] for updates.
