Through March 9th, foodies and conversationalists who would like to attend the TupperClub can enter to win a seat at the table on food blog EaterNY (http://ny.eater.com/archives/2011/03/tupperware_sp.php). Tupperware and EaterNY are calling for haiku submissions on the most awkward dinner party experiences ever had.
White will cook a variety of unique dishes and all attendees will receive simple recipes from White they can make at home to re-create the TupperClub experience. The recipes will also be posted on http://www.facebook.com/TupperwareBrandsCorp.
"From Day One, Tupperware has been about helping people create memorable moments that facilitate great conversation," said Tupperware Brands Corporation Chairman and CEO Rick Goings. "In fact, some people have called the Tupperware party the first social network. Today's Tupperware party builds on that tradition, but it's no longer a bunch of housewives sitting around June Cleaver-style. It's a fun, interactive girls' night out, in which women talk and cook together, bonding over the experiences they share. In many ways, it's what a dinner party used to be – but in too many cases no longer is. Tupperware is celebrating the importance of taking time to enjoy the simple joy of a wonderfully prepared meal coupled with good company and great conversation."
"Cooking was a family pastime when I was growing up," said Chef Michael White. "For me, a great meal has always been about the magic that happens not only in the kitchen, but also at the table. The original supper clubs were about creating places for people to get together with others in their community and get to know each other. I'm thrilled to work with Tupperware to bring back that concept and demonstrate how any at home chef can use Tupperware to prepare and host their very own TupperClub for their friends and loved ones."
