TuneWiki brings Song Lyrics to the Spotify Platform
TuneWiki's new integrated application offers over 6 million lyrics for Spotify users.
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TuneWiki is excited to announce today that its award-winning lyric syncing technology and database of over 6 million lyrics is available for Spotify users everywhere!
Users can go to the App Finder section in Spotify and easily add TuneWiki to their applications list, play a song, and get lyrics scrolling on the screen while the song is being played. It's incredibly simple to use. TuneWiki also added the ability to sync lyrics to songs directly inside Spotify for those lyrics that have not yet been synced. By clicking a lyric line immediately after it has been sung, TuneWiki's database will remember that sync for everyone who listens to the song in the future. Those who join the TuneWiki community can help edit and add lyrics to songs too! Users can also search for their favorite lyrics to other songs in the TuneWiki database or link to TuneWiki's Song Map feature to see other people listening to the same song they are playing.
"We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Spotify," said Larry Goldberg, CEO of TuneWiki. "We are constantly looking to give music fans a deeper connection to the lyrics and songs they love. There is no better way to do that than take our unique syncing technology and enormous lyrics database and give Spotify users the opportunity to view the lyrics to their favorite songs while they're actually listening to music."
Daniel Ek, CEO and Founder of Spotify, commented: "Today Spotify brings music to the party and becomes a music platform, with the launch of truly integrated apps inside Spotify from the best and brightest. We've worked closely with TuneWiki to deliver a unique app, layering even more fun and social musical experiences into Spotify."
The free app is now available on the new Spotify Platform, which was unveiled on November 30th at a Spotify press conference in New York. The Spotify Platform allows third party developers to easily build innovative, engaging music-based apps. Apps can be accessed by the more than 10 million Spotify users through the new App Finder, launching out of its preview phase today on Spotify.
