First up is Music Madness ATX Fest on Thursday, March 17, featuring TuneGO artist Lauren Silva (https://www.tunego.com/laurensilvamusic/) and special guest Josh Stevens, GRAMMY-winning writer of LMFAO Party Rock Anthem, Sexy and I Know it and legions more. Stevens recently joined Silva's new production team and is working with her on a release for later in the year. Stevens will also preview his new solo EP during his performance with Silva. The show starts at 8 p.m., at Aussie's Grill & Beach Bar, 306 Barton Springs Road in Austin (http://www.musicmadnessatx.com/). The following night, March 18, at Club Galaxy, 10701 N Lamar Blvd. in Austin, Silva -- a Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) award winner -- will perform at the ATX Talent Showcase http://www.atxtalentshowcase2016.com/HMMA-Winner-Lauren-Silva.php.
SXSW will welcome a dazzling array of established and emerging artists, but none closer to home than those at the All Austin Talent Showcase on March 18, at the Saxon Pub. Austin Artist Development (AAD) will present an official SXSW event featuring six local acts – all of them active on TuneGO: Sarah Pierce (sarahpierce.com), Wendy Colonna (wendycolonna.com), Redd Volkaert (reddvolkaert.com), Barbara Nesbitt (barbaranesbitt.com), Shelley King (shelleyking.com) and Austin Chronicle "Clicks 2 Pick" selection Jackie Venson (jackievenson.com -- http://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2016-03-04/seven-the-hard-way-jackie-venson/). Badges and wristbands are given first priority; tickets are available for the entire evening for $10 at the door. The Saxon Pub is located at 1320 S. Lamar Blvd. in Austin. The music starts at 8 p.m.
The following evening, Saturday, March 19, the Saxon Pub will host a SXSW showcase featuring TuneGO artist Charlie Faye & the Fayettes, another Chronicle "Clicks 2 Pick" selection (http://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2016-03-04/seven-the-hard-way-charlie-faye-and-the-fayettes/).
As the Chronicle put it, "[TuneGO producer and] music business vet Ron Dante (the Archies and other pop projects) heard [Faye's] You Were Fine and passed a copy to famed [TuneGO] producer/manager Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt). Asher liked what he heard and contacted Faye by surprise. 'He wrote an email that just floored me,' she remembers. 'I thought, 'Peter Asher wants to hear what I'm going to do next? Well, it better be good.'"
"The TuneGO-affiliated artists at SXSW are engaged in a new and compelling model for the music business," said John Kohl, TuneGO CEO. "They understand how to build bridges between the industry and their fans, using every medium and channel at their disposal – something our platform facilitates."
