TuneGO Artist Just FAITH Opens for Original Mary Jane Girls -- 13-Year-Old Singer/Songwriter Off to Just Phenomenal Start
Taking Advantage of Innovative Career Development Platform, Youthful Performer Plans Return to Recording Studio
LAS VEGAS, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Add another milestone to the blossoming career of 13-year-old recording artist Just FAITH – among the youngest and most dynamic performers affiliated with TuneGO (www.tunego.com), the music industry's premier career development platform. On Saturday, March 19, the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter opened for The Original Mary Jane Girls at the Gaslamp Music + Bar + Kitchen in Long Beach, Calif.
Launched by Rick James in 1983 as a Motown project, The Mary Jane Girls consists of four individual personas: one street smart punk-funktress; one vamp; one Valley girl (Cheri Wells); and one leather queen (Maxi B). The group's debut album, The Mary Jane Girls, spawned three singles that hit the R&B Top 20: Candy Man, Boys and the legendary All Night Long. The second album, Only Four You (1985), established the group as a force to be reckoned with. The lead single, In My House, became the group's biggest hit, reaching the Top 10 on both the Pop and R&B charts, and Number 1 on the dance charts. Wild and Crazy Love quickly followed in the Top 20.
With 10 original songs published and 11 more in production, Just FAITH (http://www.justfaithmusic.com/) carries a sound that extends from rock and pop to dance and Christian genres. She began singing at the age of 9 and recorded her first EP by the time she was 10. Her first full length album, Home Sweet Home, was released May 2015 and is available on iTunes and other digital music sites. Her title track won an Akademia Award for "Best Song – Christian Electronica" and was nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award in November 2015. This spring, Just FAITH plans to return to the recording studio, collaborating with several TuneGO producers on new material.
"TuneGO has already given me direct exposure to some of the top producers in the business, and they're actually listening to my work," Just FAITH said. "The kind of support I'm receiving is a huge confidence booster, and I can't wait to work with them on my next EP."
Just FAITH's song Ripples & Rapids hit #1 on the Indie Music Charts in July 2015 and was featured on "The World's Next Big Thing" in August 2015. The previous year, she sang Adele's Rolling in the Deep to close the 11th annual Omni Youth Music & Actor Awards. At age 12, she performed at the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro, the Light At The Lighthouse Music Festival and the First Annual Bully Prevention Solution Station, in West Los Angeles. Last year, Marquix Global Network said this: "A mere twelve years of age, Just FAITH has the kind of vocal maturity and musical ingenuity one would normally associate with older artists (and great ones, at that)."
"TuneGO-affiliated artists from around the world, like Just FAITH, are engaged in a new and compelling model for the music business," said John Kohl, TuneGO CEO. "She's learning to build bridges between the industry and her fans, using every medium at her disposal – something our platform facilitates. TuneGO truly is an extension of the music industry. We fill gaps in the market for music professionals, for consumers, and for fans by offering new channels to find and support up-and-coming artists."
TuneGO was created for artists who aspire to work with some of the music industry's top producers, play exclusive live events, secure a recording contract, and attract more fans. TuneGO is LinkedIn for artists, a haven for serious musicians on the rise and a veritable farm system for the music business, with genuine potential to reshape the industry landscape.
