NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading digital music distribution and publishing administration service provider, TuneCore, announced today the opening of a new office in Atlanta, Georgia, it's sixth location nationwide. To lead operations in the South's hip hop epicenter, TuneCore has hired Phillana Williams as Vice President.
The past quarter has shown continued growth for TuneCore Artists, who amassed 3.6 billion downloads and streams in Q3, resulting in an incredible 90 percent year-over-year increase versus the same time last year. Artists also saw a 6.1 percent increase in earnings over the same time period, totaling an impressive $34.7 million. As the next step in TuneCore's rapid growth, the addition of the new Atlanta office, led by Williams, will offer the opportunity to connect with both artists and industry influencers in a city rooted in hip hop culture and music history.
Overseeing the Atlanta office is Phillana Williams, an industry stalwart with extensive music business experience and a shared commitment to TuneCore's "artist-first" approach. Previously, Williams was Executive Vice President at Stealth Sports & Entertainment, responsible for the development and management of the start-up's entertainment division. She has also plied her trade at music industry titans like Motown Records, Island Def Jam, Sony Music Group and more, working directly with top artists.

TuneCore Artists, currently totaling 1.2 billion streams per month, are continuing to use TuneCore services to distribute their music to fans around the world. In fact, TuneCore Artists have garnered approximately $3 million in gross YouTube sound recording earnings from October 2014 to October 2015. In addition, Music Publishing Administration services in Q3 of this year have propelled artists to a 75 percent year-over-year increase in international revenue and a 70 percent increase in sync revenue since the same time in 2014. Through its Publishing Administration, TuneCore has helped musicians earn royalties from film and television usage, helping place their music in popular programs such as South Park, Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries, and more.

TuneCore's Atlanta office is the latest introduction in TuneCore's ongoing expansion, adding to an already impressive list of locations in the U.S., including its Brooklyn, NY headquarters and offices in Burbank, CA, Austin, TX, Boston, MA and Nashville, TN, alongside an international office in Japan.
